BBA specializes in recommending and demonstrating technical solutions for individual applications and joining problems. We can rapidly prototype product solutions, we can do that because we are a family-owned organization where decision making is instant and moreover we have a manufacturing system that lends itself to being very lean in the design cost.
Our History
Over 20 Years of Fastening Solutions
Company Founded by Herbert Schruff in Centobuchi (AP), Italy
1999
In 1999, Herbert Schruff founded BBA in Centobuchi, Italy. The company started with a small team of just 10 employees and a manufacturing facility. From the outset, the focus was on quality production and building a solid foundation in the fastening industry.
KVT GmBh becomes our principle European distriubtor
2001
After discussions between BBA and KVT GmBh in 2001, KVT became the principal distributor in Europe. This relationship allowed BBA to extend its reach across the continent and build a strong presence in the European fastening market.
BBA designs and launches in house production machines
2001
To strengthen control over its manufacturing processes, we designed and developed our own machines specifically for producing large-size M10 and upwards rivet nuts. This move ensures to this day a more reliable supply chain and increased production capacity.
BBA designs and launches custom M4 - M8 machines
2003
We introduced our custom M4 - M8 machines. To support BBAs unique manufacturing process, machines were designed internally to produce our product. Our depth of knowledge of our production process, reinforces our supply chain security for our customers.
BBA Reaches 50 million Rivet Nuts production
2005
By 2005, BBA had reached the milestone of producing 50 million rivet nuts. This achievement marked a major step forward in the company’s growth and cemented its reputation in the European fastening industry.
Confirmation of the BCT patent
2008
In 2008, BBA secured the official patent for its BCT technology, which introduced innovative fastening solutions to the market. This patent underscores BBA's commitment to advancing technology and maintaining a competitive edge through innovation and design capability.
Paul Hanratty joins the general management team at BBA
2010
Paul Hanratty joined BBA in 2010, bringing his expertise and leadership to the company. His role was pivotal in guiding BBA through its next phase of growth, strengthening its operations, and ensuring sustained success.
BBA reaches 75 million rivet nut production
2012
BBA reached the production milestone of 75 million rivet nuts. Despite our success and growth, the company has remained family-owned, reflecting our strong values and commitment to staying true to our roots.
Paul Hanratty becomes the Managing Director of BBA
2014
BBA restructed, whilst remaining a family owned business with Paul Hanratty becoming one of the shareholders. The family owned legacy of BBA continues to this day.
BBA becomes IATF 16949 compliant
2016
BBA achieved IATF 16949 compliance, a globally recognized standard for quality management systems in the automotive industry. This certification reinforces BBA’s dedication to delivering top-tier products with rigorous quality controls.
BBA becomes direct supplier to Stellantis
2017
BBA established itself as a direct supplier to Stellantis, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. This partnership showcased BBA’s growing influence and reputation within the global automotive sector.
ISO 14001 certification completed
2018
In a continued effort to prioritize environmental responsibility, BBA completed ISO 14001 certification, demonstrating its commitment to environmental management systems and sustainability practices.
Launch of the distributor portal
2019
BBA launched a new distributor portal to facilitate closer collaboration with its distribution partners. The portal enables seamless communication on stock levels and production planning, enhances the overall relationship with our customers.
BBA srl opens technical sales office and warehouse in the United States.
2021
BBA expanded into the U.S. market by opening a technical sales office and warehouse in the United States. This move allows the company to better serve its North American clients and further established its presence in global markets.
Grazia Mandozzi and Alessndro Lori become directors of BBA.
2023
In 2023, Grazia Mandozzi and Alessandro Lori became BBA directors, bringing new leadership perspectives to the company. Their appointments signify our continued focus on growth and innovation.
